Corrie Sid is an Alabama native from Tallassee who spent nearly 30 years in California working in the technology industry before returning home with a vision of creating places centered around great food, consistency, and community.

After returning to Tallassee, Corrie began developing her own restaurant concepts, growing them through hard work, local support, and word of mouth. Her passion for creating welcoming spaces and serving thoughtfully prepared food eventually led her to operate multiple restaurant concepts, including Grove Station in Wetumpka.

Corrie has owned Our Place Café since 2024 and takes a hands-on approach to the restaurant, from the overall guest experience to the details that make the restaurant feel like a place people want to return to.

For Corrie, owning a restaurant is about more than serving food. It is about creating a space where people feel comfortable, welcomed, and connected to their community.

With Our Place Café, she continues to bring that vision to  Wetumpka—one plate, one guest, and one day at a time.

Chef Brian Timmons joined the Our Place family in April 2026, bringing years of culinary experience, a lifelong connection to fishing and seafood, and a passion for taking simple dishes and making them unforgettable.

Originally from Florida, Brian's culinary journey has taken him from Florida's restaurant scene to Alabama. His experience includes working at the renowned Bern's Steak House in Florida, where he gained experience in a demanding, high-level culinary environment.

Following Hurricane Helene, Brian made the move from Florida to Alabama, bringing his experience, creativity, and love of cooking with him.

Brian believes great food doesn't always have to be complicated. One of his greatest strengths is taking simple, familiar dishes and elevating them through technique, quality ingredients, and attention to detail.

His lifelong love of fishing and seafood also plays an important role in the way he approaches food. At Our Place Café, Brian brings together his culinary experience and his appreciation for simple, honest food to create dishes that are familiar, memorable, and full of flavor.

For Brian, cooking is about taking something people already love and finding a way to make it even better.

Jamie Taunton has spent nearly a decade in hospitality at Our Place Café, starting out bussing tables and cleaning tables before becoming a server and eventually working his way up to General Manager.

Originally from Titus, Alabama, Jamie has grown with the restaurant and gained experience in nearly every part of the business. Working directly with guests as a server helped him develop a strong understanding of what makes people feel welcome and cared for.

Jamie has a genuine love for hospitality and enjoys learning about food, different cuisines, and the many details that go into running a great restaurant. He also loves to travel and experience different places and cultures, bringing those experiences and ideas back with him.

For Jamie, there is always something new to learn and another way to make things better. He takes pride in helping Our Place Café grow while making sure it remains a place where people feel welcome, enjoy a good meal, and want to come back.

From bussing tables to serving guests to leading the restaurant, Jamie's journey at Our Place is a reflection of his hard work, dedication, and love for hospitality.
